Description:  The concrete pillar is the only renaming part of a huge wooden trestle that once spanned the valley here in Palouse. On it is a sign talking about the railroad history of the town. Meanwhile in the background, the W&I "logger" train is tied down after a run across the old WI&M.

Sidelined for now
Title:  Sidelined for now
Description:  WIR #20 and #316 sit tucked away on a siding in Palouse. The #20 is down with electrical problems, and the 316 has mechinacal issues. With the two new dash 8s the W&I can now afford to take these units out of service to fix them up. I am told they plan to at least repair the #20 and bring it back to service.
